@CheatDayInLA Visits All India Cafe in Glendale!

IMG_1274.PNG

One of our favorite local Instagram foodies, @CheatDayInLA, visited our Glendale location last week...

“The new location of All India Cafe in Glendale doesn’t just have wonderful service, but delicious food! The dosa had a perfect crepe-like texture, and the chicken nirvana was packed with flavor. I also loved the saffron rice filled with veggies and crispy garlic naan. I definitely will be visiting again for my Indian food fix!” - Megan Mountford, @CheatDayInLA

Eurydice Live at Glendale Community College

320b9-636570769040766819.jpg

In this modernized re-telling of the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus, nothing is as it seems:  stones can talk, rooms are made out of string, and the devil rides a tricycle. The story begins when the fairytale romance between Eurydice and Orpheus abruptly ends -- on their wedding day – as Eurydice falls to her death. On her way to the underworld, Eurydice’s memories are erased; when she is reunited with her deceased father, she believes he is the porter. As Eurydice’s father slowly and secretively helps her remember her past, Orpheus grieves and plots a way to bring his wife back. In playwright, Sarah Ruhl’s topsy-turvy Overworld/Underworld setting, anything can and does happen.

Samosas: The Snack of India

IMG_6912_preview.jpg

Undoubtedly one of our most popular and frequently-ordered appetizers, samosas are a delight to the senses.

Historically a vegetarian dish, samosas can be filled with savory and spicy additions like lentils, peas, noodles, onions, potatoes, minced lamb, and beef. Also popular in a myriad of Asian countries and the Mediterranean, and Africa, the actual name for these turnovers varies by region, but all of the names refer to this same, dumpling-like snack that we call a samosa.

At All India Cafe, we make vegetarian samosas, stuffed with potatoes, peas, spices, herbs, and serve with a tamarind chutney for a flavor juxtaposition that is sure to thrill your palate.

Our Samosas are also available as a vegan appetizer if you'd like -- just ask!

Have you tried our samosas? Use code SAMOSA at checkout for your next online All India Cafe order and you'll receive a free order.

Since 1996, All India Cafe has been an inviting Indian dining experience that is healthy, fresh, & that shows the owners' genuine dedication to each and every guest. Discerning locals who affectionately refer to their favorite eatery as "All India" have been repeat customers for years because of the impeccable service and authentic, consistently delicious cuisine. The award-winning menu primarily draws inspiration and tradition from Northern India while infusing a bit of Southern India's flavor and flare. Everything is made fresh in the restaurant (home-style cooking without any artificial coloring or preservatives; only natural spices & fresh ingredients are used) -- the food is nutritious and comforting while being low in fat, and there are many gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

A local favorite and tradition, All India Cafe Pasadena has been voted Best Indian Restaurant by San Gabriel Valley residents in Pasadena Weekly's annual 'Best Of' Awards for the last 15 years and counting.

Glendale Community College will open the doors on Thursday to its Sierra Vista building, a roughly $49-million facility designed to streamline student services as well as become the new home for the culinary arts and journalism programs.

At three stories and nearly 95,000 square feet, the building is now the largest on the Verdugo campus. The facility was paid for mostly with state funds, with about 14% coming from the $98-million Measure G bond approved by voters in 2002. Construction began in 2013.
